Chase Dietz capped one of the biggest nights of his season with a $75,000 victory in the 64th J&S Classics World of Outlaws Sprint Cars National Open at Williams Grove Speedway, while also securing the 2026 track championship.
Dietz, driving the Stehman Motorsports No. 23, took command after early leader Bill Balog fell off the pace and then held off a late charge from six-time National Open winner Donny Schatz to win the 40-lap feature by just 0.257 seconds.
The victory was Dietz's fourth of the season at Williams Grove, his ninth career win at the Mechanicsburg half-mile, and his 24th overall victory of 2026.
Dietz Takes Control
Balog started from the pole and opened an early advantage before a pair of cautions interrupted the opening laps. After the second restart, Balog encountered trouble before lap nine was completed, handing the lead to Dietz.
From there, Dietz built a gap over Schatz and managed the closing laps through traffic. Schatz closed in again late and tried to make a final run off turn four, but Dietz held on at the stripe.
Justin Peck finished third, followed by David Gravel and Daryn Pittman. Sheldon Haudenschild, Carson Macedo, Anthony Macri, Tanner Holmes and Logan Schuchart completed the top 10.
A Championship Night Too
Dietz entered the National Open weekend leading Troy Wagaman Jr. by 40 points in the Williams Grove standings. When Wagaman failed to qualify for the feature, Dietz officially locked up his first Williams Grove track championship.
The title is also the first Williams Grove championship for car owners John and Kelly Stehman.
Dietz also set quick time for the 54-car field with a lap of 16.379 seconds, his sixth fast-time performance of the season at the track.
