MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Chase Dietz delivered a late-race charge Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway, sweeping past Freddie Rahmer and Buddy Schweibinz to win the 25-lap 410 Sprint Car feature in the Kevin Gobrecht Classic Challenge.
The York, Pennsylvania driver earned $6,000 for the victory and added another win to a remarkable 2026 season. Dietz’s move for the lead came with eight laps remaining after Rahmer drifted high exiting turn four and Schweibinz stayed close behind. Dietz kept his car low, drove past both, and controlled the closing laps.
The victory also puts Dietz in position for an additional $3,000 bonus if he wins Saturday night’s $8,000 Kevin Gobrecht Classic at BAPS Motor Speedway.
A Wild 410 Sprint Feature
The opening stages were interrupted by multiple red flags. Preston Lattomus flipped violently on the backstretch on the initial start, while Logan Rumsey later made hard contact with the inside rail entering turn one and overturned. Both drivers were reported to have escaped serious injury.
Schweibinz led the early portion of the race in the Kreitz No. 69K before Rahmer worked into contention. Rahmer took command on lap 14, but Dietz stayed within striking distance and capitalized when the leaders opened the door several laps later.
Dietz went on to score what Williams Grove reported as his 21st overall victory of the season. Rahmer finished second, Austin Bishop third, Schweibinz fourth and Danny Dietrich charged from 17th to complete the top five.
Andy Best Tops the 358 Sprints
The 358 Sprint Car feature also opened with a major incident when Steve Owings and Josh Tuckey flipped during a four-car crash on the frontstretch. Brock Hammaker and Chase Gutshall were also involved, with all drivers reported uninjured.
Once racing resumed, Andy Best moved around Austin Reed on the third lap and never gave the lead back. Best rode the top side of the speedway to earn his second career Williams Grove victory by 2.634 seconds.
Reed finished second, followed by Derek Locke, Dylan Smith and Cody Fletcher.
