Three championships in North American open-wheel racing will wrap up their 2026 campaigns at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, October 16–18. Formula Regional Americas, Formula 4 United States, and Ligier Junior Formula Championship share the bill, with two races apiece over the weekend.
The series' October 15 media preview says that 13 drivers have won races across the three championships this season, and another dozen have reached the podium. Six additional races remain at Barber.
FR Americas: A champion crowned, positions still at stake
Brady Golan secured the FR Americas title and its $100,000 prize at Virginia International Raceway, but the fight for the remaining podium positions continues. Evagoras Papasavvas enters the finale ahead of Cooper Shipman, while Kekai Hauanio is also in pursuit. The Masters Cup and team standings are unsettled heading into the final two races.
F4 U.S.: Irazú aims for the record
Gastón Irazú has clinched the F4 U.S. championship after a dominant season. With nine career series victories, he is one win short of tying the mark of 10 credited to Kyle Kirkwood. Two wins at Barber would move Irazú ahead outright.
Ligier Junior Formula: Title battle goes to the wire
Edward Kennedy and Jack Speth enter the final Ligier JFC Gen. 2 rounds separated by just 13 points, according to the series preview. In Gen. 1, Beckham Jacir has secured the championship and a scholarship opportunity to move up to F4 U.S. next year.
Weekend schedule
Friday, October 16 features practice for the formula categories. On Saturday, October 17, qualifying is followed by the Ligier JFC race at noon Central, F4 U.S. at 1:50 p.m. and FR Americas at 4:55 p.m., according to the October 15 media release. Sunday's scheduled races are Ligier JFC at 9:10 a.m., F4 U.S. at 10:25 a.m. and FR Americas at noon Central. Fans can attend Saturday's 3:15 p.m. driver autograph session in the main paddock.
