Rain Wins at Lernerville — But Not Before the Action Track Delivered

SARVER, PA — September 19, 2026 — Sometimes you head to the racetrack expecting a full night and Pennsylvania weather decides you’re getting only part of the story.

Pitmark Racing Co. was at Lernerville Speedway Saturday night for the track’s Back to School Bus Races and Bike Races, paired with BRP Modified Tour Championship Night. Lernerville’s ticket listing billed the September 19 program as the Back to School Bus Races and Bike Races, while DIRT.tv listed the BRP Mod Tour Championship portion of the show for a 6:30 p.m. start.

It had all the pieces of one of those nights that reminds you why local dirt racing is different: families in the stands, kids waiting for the bicycle races, school buses ready for their own brand of chaos, and a field of big-block Modifieds prepared to settle business on the Action Track.

The Modifieds Got Their Shot

Before the rain arrived, the BRP Modifieds did get meaningful track time, and the heat races delivered exactly what we came to see. The surface was alive, the cars were moving around, and the field was putting on the kind of side-by-side dirt-track racing that makes Lernerville feel like Lernerville.

For Pitmark, this was the part of the night we wanted to capture most: not just cars circulating, but the atmosphere around a real race night. Engines echoing off the property. Officials working the stand. Fans leaning forward when a battle started building. A track that looked ready for the rest of the program.

Then the Sky Took Over

The program made it through Modified heat-race action, but it never got the chance to reach the finish everyone came for.

Rain moved in and brought the night to a halt before the full program could be completed. That meant no clean ending, no complete championship-night story, and no chance for the scheduled bus-race and bike-race portion of the evening to become the full spectacle everybody had been waiting on.

That’s dirt racing. You can have the cars unloaded, the track prepped, the crowd in place and the show underway — and still have a storm somewhere beyond the backstretch holding the final vote.

An Unfinished Night Is Still a Race-Night Story

The easy version of this story would be: it rained.

But that isn’t really what we’ll remember.

We’ll remember the BRP Modified heats. We’ll remember the Action Track under a darkening western Pennsylvania sky. We’ll remember the families, the bikes, the buses waiting in the wings, the noise, the dirt, and the feeling that the night was building toward something before Mother Nature pulled the plug.

And for Pitmark, nights like this matter.

We don’t want Pitmark Racing Co. to exist only as a logo on a shirt or another racing page on a phone. We want to be at the tracks, around the people who make this sport what it is, capturing the good nights, the weird nights, the huge moments — and yes, the rainouts too.

Because local racing doesn’t stop being worth showing up for just because the checkered flag never falls.
