Port City Raceway will host three straight nights of POWRi National and West Midget racing from October 8-10, with the Donnie Ray Crawford Sooner State 55 opening the weekend before the two-night Charlene Meents Memorial.

The stretch arrives with championship battles tightening and only a handful of points events remaining on the National schedule. It also gives Start2Finish TV a full weekend of live open-wheel coverage from one of Oklahoma's best-known short tracks.

Thursday: Sooner State 55

The weekend begins Thursday with the seventh annual Donnie Ray Crawford Sooner State 55, a 55-lap feature paying $5,555 to win. The event honors Crawford, a Tulsa-area racer and Port City product whose No. 55 became closely tied to his career.

The race has yet to produce a repeat winner. Previous victors include Logan Seavey, Buddy Kofoid, Zach Daum, Ryan Timms, Daison Pursley and Michael Faccinto.

POWRi National and West Midgets will be joined by NOW600 Non-Wing Micros.

Friday and Saturday: Charlene Meents Memorial

The 22nd annual Charlene Meents Memorial takes over Friday and Saturday. Friday's Midget feature pays $3,000 to win, while Saturday's championship-night feature is worth $5,000.

Meents spent 27 years involved with MARA Midgets and eventually served as organization president. Her influence touched several major events in Midget racing, including the Belleville Nationals and the early years of what became the Chili Bowl Nationals.

POWRi National and West Midgets will share the card with multiple NOW600 Micro divisions on both nights.

Championship Stakes

Kale Drake enters the weekend atop the POWRi National standings after back-to-back victories at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex. Karter Sarff sits second nationally, while Brecken Reese leads the West standings and remains in the National title fight.

The Jim Childers Rookie of the Year race adds another layer, with Drake Edwards leading a group that also includes Cullen Hutchison, Drew Sherman, Mack Leopard and Landon Henry.
