The Springfield Mile will host a dedicated weekend of championship racing on August 7–8, 2027, moving two longstanding events away from their traditional dates during the final weekend of the Illinois State Fair.

According to an October 13 announcement distributed by the United States Auto Club, Track Enterprises has scheduled the USAC Silver Crown Championship's Bettenhausen 100 for Saturday, August 7. The ARCA Menards Series Allen Crowe Memorial 100 will follow on Sunday, August 8.

What changes for fans?

The races will take place on the weekend before the Illinois State Fair, rather than during its final weekend. Organizers say attendees will not face additional State Fair admission or parking charges for the racing weekend. They also expect easier access to the fairgrounds and more flexibility in the event schedule.

Another notable return is infield camping at the historic one-mile dirt oval, bringing back a familiar part of the Springfield race-weekend experience.

Tradition on a new weekend

The Bettenhausen 100 and Allen Crowe Memorial 100 remain at Springfield; only their dates are changing. The Du Quoin Mile race weekend, meanwhile, will retain its traditional Labor Day timing.

Additional racing divisions and detailed schedules have not yet been announced. Track Enterprises says tickets will be available through its office, the State Fair box office and Ticketmaster, with ARCA discount tickets available through Menards. Annual ticketholders will receive renewal letters.

For fans planning ahead, the key dates are August 7 for USAC Silver Crown and August 8 for ARCA. More details are expected in the coming months.
