LAWRENCEBURG, Indiana — Persistent rain brought the 19th USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship Fall Nationals at Lawrenceburg Speedway to an early end Saturday, October 10, before the feature could take the green flag.

Qualifying, heat races and the semi-feature had been completed when the weather turned. After a three-hour rain delay, track crews restored the 3/8-mile dirt oval enough for cars to return for hot laps at approximately 10 p.m. Eastern. Rain returned during that session, and officials ultimately called the event at 11 p.m.

No feature winner, but the program is official

USAC confirmed that the event counts as official because its preliminary racing was completed. The Fall Nationals will not be rescheduled, and no rain checks will be issued. No feature winner was declared.

Drivers who qualified for the feature received 23 championship points plus what they earned in qualifying and preliminary races; non-qualifiers received 10 points plus their earlier earnings.

Cummins tops qualifying as heat winners emerge

Championship leader Kyle Cummins posted a fast lap of 13.834 seconds, his eighth fast-qualifier award of 2026 and 27th of his USAC National Sprint Car career, tying Dave Steele for 17th all-time.

  • Fast qualifier: Kyle Cummins — 13.834 seconds
  • Heat 1: Jake Swanson
  • Heat 2: Robert Ballou
  • Heat 3: Cale Coons
  • Semi-feature: Caleb Shietze

Chad Wilson flipped in turn two during the second heat but recovered to take fourth in the semi-feature, enough to transfer to the scheduled main event.

Championship standings and next race

After Saturday's preliminary action, Cummins leads the standings with 3,119 points, ahead of Justin Grant (2,911) and Mitchel Moles (2,846). The series is scheduled to return to action Friday, October 16, at Dodge City Raceway Park in Kansas.
