USAC Sprints Head to Lawrenceburg for Greg Staab Memorial and $20,000 Fall Nationals

USAC AMSOIL Sprint Cars in action during the 2026 season ahead of the Lawrenceburg Speedway doubleheader

The USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship is headed back to Lawrenceburg Speedway for one of the final Midwest weekends of the 2026 season, with two straight nights of racing scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 9-10.

Friday's third annual Greg Staab Memorial will pay $6,544 to win, while Saturday's 18th annual Fall Nationals carries a $20,000 winner's share. Both events pay $750 to start, giving the weekend plenty of stakes before the series begins its late-season push west.

Seavey Chases Fall Nationals History

Logan Seavey enters the weekend with a chance to do something no driver has done before: win the Fall Nationals three years in a row. The Abacus Racing driver claimed the event in both 2024 and 2025 and already owns five USAC National Sprint Car victories at Lawrenceburg.

His 2026 visits to the southeastern Indiana 3/8-mile oval have been tougher, with a pair of 15th-place finishes, but the Fall Nationals has become one of Seavey's strongest events.

Cummins Has a Major Bonus in Play

Championship leader Kyle Cummins has another incentive beyond the standard purse. After finishing second in both the Kokomo Smackdown and the Haubstadt Hustler, Cummins is the only driver still eligible for the Trifecta bonus.

A Fall Nationals win would be worth $40,000 total to Cummins — the $20,000 winner's purse plus a $20,000 bonus. A runner-up finish would pay him $28,000 total, while third would be worth $14,000.

Cummins also enters as the defending Greg Staab Memorial winner and the most recent USAC National Sprint Car winner in 2026.

Danner, Grant and a Loaded Field

Briggs Danner comes into Lawrenceburg on a strong run after scoring a USAC Sprint victory at Eldora and following it with a Silver Crown win at Toledo. He also won April's Justin Owen Memorial at Lawrenceburg and captured the inaugural Greg Staab Memorial in 2024.

Justin Grant remains the all-time winningest USAC National Sprint Car driver at Lawrenceburg with eight career victories there, including Fall Nationals wins in 2018 and 2023. Other previous Fall Nationals winners expected in the field include Robert Ballou, Chase Stockon and Kevin Thomas Jr.

Mitchel Moles, Jake Swanson and C.J. Leary are also among the contenders still looking for their first Fall Nationals victory. Moles has finished second in each of the last two editions.

Remembering Greg Staab

Friday's event honors Greg "Dog" Staab, a five-time Lawrenceburg Speedway sprint car track champion who later became a longtime USAC driver, car owner, track promoter and USAC National Sprint Car Competition Director.

The $6,544 winner's share recognizes the No. 44 Staab campaigned during his career. Staab passed away in 2017 at age 68.
