Western Pennsylvania gets one of its biggest dirt late model weekends of the season this Friday and Saturday as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolls into Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for the 38th annual Pittsburgher.

The two-night event is set for October 2–3 at PPMS in Imperial, Pennsylvania, and it arrives at a major point in the Lucas Oil season as the series moves through its late-season championship stretch.

Friday: $10,000 to Win

Friday night opens the Pittsburgher weekend with a $10,000-to-win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series program and a posted purse of $48,575.

For Western Pennsylvania fans, it is another chance to see national-level Super Late Model competition on one of the region’s biggest stages without leaving the Pittsburgh area.

Saturday: $50,000 Pittsburgher Finale

The stakes jump considerably Saturday. The Pittsburgher finale is scheduled to pay $50,000 to the winner from a posted $150,000 purse.

That makes the Pittsburgher one of the major events in the closing portion of the 2026 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule.

Weekend Schedule

Friday’s pit gates are scheduled to open at 2:00 PM, general admission at 3:00 PM, and Hot Laps at 6:00 PM. Saturday follows the same gate schedule, with a driver autograph session from 4:30–5:15 PM before Hot Laps at 6:00 PM.

Why Pitmark Is Watching

PPMS has been part of Pitmark’s Western Pennsylvania coverage all season, and weekends like this are exactly why local and regional racing deserves more attention. A national touring series, a major purse and a recognizable event name are all landing in our own backyard.

We recently covered Alex Ferree’s Super Late Model victory at PPMS, and now the track shifts immediately toward one of its biggest weekends of the year.

How to Follow

FloRacing has the Lucas Oil Pittsburgher listed for live coverage across the October 2–3 weekend. Broadcast and event times can move as race-day schedules develop, so fans should check PPMS, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and FloRacing for the latest updates before race time.
