Williams Grove National Open Returns Oct. 2–3 With $75,000 on the Line

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — One of Pennsylvania sprint car racing’s biggest weekends is less than a month away, as the J & S Classics 64th annual World of Outlaws National Open returns to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Saturday, October 2–3.

The two-day Williams Grove season finale will bring top sprint car talent from across the country to the historic Cumberland County oval, culminating in Saturday night’s 40-lap National Open paying $75,000 to win.

World of Outlaws Stars Head Back to Williams Grove

National Open weekend begins Friday, October 2, with the opening round scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Local standout Chase Dietz enters the weekend as the defending winner of Friday night’s National Open program. Dietz has been on a tear throughout the 2026 season, with Williams Grove reporting 20 overall victories to his credit.

On Saturday, Sheldon Haudenschild returns as the defending National Open winner after collecting the $75,000 payday in last season’s finale.

David Gravel will also be one of the major names to watch. The World of Outlaws points leader already owns two Williams Grove victories this season, including the Summer Nationals finale in August, and will be chasing his third National Open title. Gravel’s most recent National Open victory came in 2017.

A Track Championship Is Also on the Line

The National Open weekend will do more than close out Williams Grove’s 2026 racing season. It will also determine the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 Sprint Car track championship.

Defending champion Troy Wagaman Jr. of Hanover currently leads the standings over Dietz as the season finale approaches, setting up another storyline to follow alongside the World of Outlaws battle.

With a $75,000 winner’s check, a national-level field and a local track championship still to be decided, the 64th National Open is shaping up to be one of the defining weekends of the 2026 Pennsylvania sprint car season.
